Hey, you. Thanks for reading. Don't be dissuaded by Shaun's reactions. These drinks are all really good but also, really different in profile. All except the Backyard Nuptials are really easy to make too! Give them a shot and reach out to us to let us know what you think
~Four Drinks For The Road!~
Backyard Nuptials (Hay Fever)
1.5oz Rosemary Infused Vodka*
0.75oz Pinot Grigio Wine Syrup**
0.75oz Guava Juice
0.75oz Lemon Juice
==Put all ingredients in shaker with ice, shake hard, serve in rocks glass with a single large ice cube. Garnish with rosemary sprig if desired==
* I use an Isi 1/2 liter cream whipper to infuse the vodka. Any decent vodka will do here. Measure 1/2 liter (500ml) of vodka and add it to the whipper. Put it on a kitchen scale and zero it out. Now add 50g of dried rosemary. Note that this is a lot, but it will fit. Seal the whipper, and charge with NO_2 cylinder and start a timer. Shake the whipper and when the timer reaches 1 minute, add a second NO_2 cylinder. When the timer reaches 2 minutes, depressurize the cylinder. Strain through a fine mesh strainer, nutmilk bag, muslin cloth etc. Add in 250ml more of plain vodka and bottle the mix. It should keep indefinitely but the flavors will be strongest in the first week or so.
** Get a small saucepan and place it on a kitchen scale and zero it. Now combine equal parts by weight of sugar and a good pinot grigio wine. Put this over *LOW* heat, stirring occasionally till the sugar is dissolved. Continue heating and stirring on low till the mixture is reduced in volume by at least 1/3. Remove from heat and let cool. Bottled up, this stuff should last a few weeks but it's best to use it sooner when the flavor is the strongest.
